Fathers (day) for justice?
We’re issuing a challenge – can you support the Street Child World Cup by organising a Father’s Day braai (South African barbecue)?
Father’s Day is on 21 June.
Get your football team/ school/ church/ pub quiz team/ gym buddies together to say thanks to dads – and you’ll be enabling street children, who typically live apart from families and fathers, to share your celebration by ensuring their voices are heard. Justice for street children – the right to be heard, protected, supported, treated like a child. Pretty great father’s day gift, huh? (especially if accompanied by a big fat hunk of chargrilled meat) (with apologies to veggies – for meat, read ‘halloumi’.)
Our volunteer fundraisers will send you info, fundraising ideas, South African recipes and posters to promote your event. If Fathers Day, or a barbecue doesn’t work for you, don’t let it put you off! We’ve got a bunch of other fundraising ideas to send you. We’re asking you to come alongside street children in whatever way you can!
Contact our volunteer fundraisers by emailing info@streetchildren.org for information.

You too could be eating delicious braai on 21 June...
Not enough time to get organised for Father’s Day? This is a great event that could be held any time. 24 September is National Braai Day in South Africa. Or if you’re scared about the British weather, drop us a line and we’ll feed you some other ideas.
