BAL SINGH The Khalsa Football Academy (The KFA)
The Khalsa Football Academy are delighted to be involved in the Street Child World Cup. We are working with the Youth Football Club Rurka Kalan, and with them, have organised Team India.
We began as a small football club with a big aim – bring more Asian players into grassroots football. Since those early days we have come a long way, and we have been involved in a whole range of projects that are trying to promote racial understanding throughout the whole community. We have an anti-poverty campaign in place which is part of our Striving For Unity project.
By working in partnership with yfc rurkakalan, a progressive social organization that aims to develop the village infrastructure, we’re enabling street children to voice their concerns on a global platform. The South African Street Child World Cup will hopefully empower Team India – a team of street children – towards a positive and sustainable lifestyle and channel the energy of the children positively towards their development.
My Dad went out to India earlier this year and the work done by Gurmangal and his team is fantastic helping the street children in Northern India. Team India are very excited about the Street Child World Cup project.
